Shakeela, the lady who has ruled the soft porn industry down south, is getting a biopic. The first look of the film was shared and it had Bollywood actor Richa Chadha in the lead role. The actress has begun shooting for the film in a small town Tirthahalli in Karnataka. Dressed in a traditional Kerala saree called Kasavu Pattu, Richa Chadha’s first look as Shakeela is revealed.

Soon after she Instagrammed the photos, her Instafam started flooding the comments section with reactions and very unlike the usual nature of the Internet, netizens actually appeared to appreciate Richa's look as Shakeela. "So gorgeous," wrote an user while another one added: "Mesmerising!" More comments on Richa's Instagram read: "You're like a painting" and "Love the look!"
When asked about the first look, the actress said, “The story traces the journey of Shakeela’s younger days to her becoming a popular figure. The challenge is to depict her looks. With each passing time, her look changed and thus to show that is a challenge. But also as an actor, it’s gratifying that I get to grow with the real character on celluloid. Shakeela is still a legend and we wish to do complete justice to her when the film is ready.”
